SAFE. ALIVE. FREE.™ COMMUNITY RESPONSE · A UC IMPLEMENTATION MODEL

Local relationships.
A response built to work.

“You have the local relationships. We bring the model, training, lived-experience expertise, implementation support and infrastructure to make it work.”

Flexible by design.
Grounded in community.

SAFE. ALIVE. FREE.™ Community Response is a flexible implementation and capacity-building model for communities that need a coordinated response to youth violence, justice involvement, reentry, substance-related harm and disconnection—but do not need, or cannot yet sustain, a large stand-alone violence-prevention department.

The model pairs local knowledge and trusted relationships with The Urban Conservation’s lived-experience leadership, credible-messenger practice, training, operating tools and implementation support. It can strengthen an existing local network or help a community build a response from the ground up.

A practical structure.
Not another silo.

  1. 01A practical community-response structure, adapted to local needs and resources.
  2. 02Recruitment, selection and development of locally trusted credible messengers.
  3. 03Training, coaching, supervision tools and practice standards.
  4. 04Direct youth, family, diversion, reentry and opportunity-navigation capacity.
  5. 05Case coordination and referral infrastructure that connects—not duplicates—local services.
  6. 06Implementation support, performance reporting and continuous improvement.
  7. 07A path from an initial assessment or pilot to a locally sustainable response.
